University of Nebraska Monopoly

University of Nebraska Monopoly

Just like the original Monopoly, but the properties are uniquely Nebraska.

Coaches, university buildings, landmarks, and more.  Great fun for serious Husker fans.

Harry Husker Playing Cards

Double set of playing cards circa 1970, manufactured by Brown & Bigelow, St. Paul, MN.  On my set, the 10 through Ace are yellowed (antiqued?) while the Jokers and 2-9 cards are brighter, which gives the deck a layered look when you put the cards in order by suit.  Pretty neat. I would guess that these decks were (originally) put out between 1965 and 1973 (period when Harry was officially used). If anyone has any more info, please let me know.

Lincoln Tour & Travel

Kickoff Classic Playing Cards

Complimentary set of playing cards for use to pass the time during the trip to the Meadowlands to watch the Huskers take on the Texas A&M Aggies in August 1988.  Great way to start the season, as the Huskers beat the Aggies from the Southwestern Conference 23-14.

1971 WOW Radio and TV

Hawaii Game Playing Cards

Complimentary set of playing cards for use to pass the time during the trip to Hawaii sponsored by WOW to see the defending and still #1 Cornhuskers play the Rainbow Warriors of Hawaii.  The Huskers were coming off of their big win over Oklahoma in the Game of the Century, and went on to win easily 45-3.

Omaha World Herald

Harry Husker Playing Cards

This is a complete guess on the time-frame, but probably late 1970s or early 1980s. Though Harry Husker was no longer the official mascot starting in 1973 when Tom Osborne took over the reigns as head coach from Bob Devaney (Herbie took over, too!) Harry was still in use in different forms by local newspapers and such well into the early 1980s..
