"The Nebraska Quarterback's Unlikely Road to Heisman Front-runner." Issued just prior to the annual match-up with the Colorado Buffaloes, most Husker fans feared the vaunted "SI Curse."  Well, superstitious or not, the #1 BCS Huskers lost badly, 62-36 in their worst defeat of all time.  The loss initially looked like it would squander Crouch's Heisman hopes, but after successive weeks of wacky football, he returned to the top of the race.
